About Lori

As a relational, person-centered counselor, Lori believes it is an honor to hear clients’ personal stories and walk with them on their journey. She uses a holistic approach and focuses on cultivating a sense of safety to nurture client growth and empowerment. She believes healing happens through relationships and works to create an atmosphere of open, direct communication where feedback can be shared, and clients can feel seen, heard, and valued. Lori has training in trauma-informed practices and multicultural counseling; however, she believes that the client is the expert on their life. She emphasizes autonomy and works to learn how each client defines safety. Her greatest hope is to develop an authentic connection with clients that celebrates their unique identities and meets their needs.

Lori is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern in the state of Texas. She earned a B.A. in Psychology from The University of Texas at Dallas and received her M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Texas Woman’s University. Prior to returning to graduate school, Lori worked for 8 years in sales and management roles where she cultivated a passion for working with and helping a diverse range of people and counseling employees. Her desire to assist individuals on a deeper, more meaningful level led her back to graduate school where she received her degree in counseling. Lori’s therapeutic approach includes: Attachment Theory, Interpersonal Process Therapy, Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and mindfulness practices. Lori has worked with a wide variety of clients in non-profit, community mental health, and residential treatment settings.
