About Lidia

Lidia Perez Smith is a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with a profound commitment to supporting individuals as they heal from trauma and hurt. If you have ever felt overwhelmed, lonely, or hopeless, Lidia will meet you where you are and support you as you work toward better mental health and happiness.

Lidia completed her undergraduate education at Arizona State University and graduated with honors before going on to graduate from Texas A&M University – Commerce with a Master of Science in Counseling (Clinical Mental Health). Between these two educational experiences, she worked as a birth doula, supporting birthing persons and their partners through life changing events and facilitating communication between them and hospital staff. After working as a doula, Lidia took time to focus on her growing family, staying home with her four children. It was during this time in her life that she began attending personal counseling. For Lidia, counseling was a life changing experience, allowing her to process pain which had been accumulated over a lifetime and to find peace and purpose once more.

Lidia understands and empathized with those who may feel isolated, ignored, unloved and worthless. She knows that we don’t have to go through those emotions on our own. She loves being able to journey with clients, young and old, as they do the amazing work of prioritizing themselves and making lasting, positive changes in their lives and the lives of those they value.

As a clinician, Lidia utilizes evidence-based modalities to assist clients across the lifespan, including internal family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy and sand tray therapy. She believes that when people have the right tools, they are capable of lasting change and deeply positive growth, and she views it as her role to help provide tools for those she works with.

When she is not working, Lidia can be found spending time with her spouse and children, cuddling one of her two dogs and three cats or catching up on her favorite shows.
